New Delhi, 24th November 2016: Drawing inspiration from the rich, refined and cultivated genre of Parisian art and architecture DIVA’NI, India’s first cinema inspired fashion brand, unveiled its Spring Summer 2017 couture collection. Amidst all the glamour and sheen, this new collection salutes the free spirit of dressing in effortlessly stylish ensembles that suit the palate of a carefree yet elegant summer bride.
Held at the gracious abode of the French Ambassador to India, H.E. Alexander Ziegler, the event witnessed celebration of France through various mediums. Lights, camera and action came together as Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor, dazzled the ramp dressed in exquisitely designed DIVA’NI couture. The evening paid a perfect ode to the French way of living life and celebrated the culmination of Yash Raj Films Befikre. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sanya Dhir, Creative Director, Diva’ni said “It's surreal how things just come together and make perfect sense. The inspiration came through while we were in Paris shooting for Befikre. The architecture, the mosaic floors, the fish scaled ceilings if on one hand formed the core of the artworks. The international runway set the mood for these silhouettes. We wanted to bring in the opulence, our love for Paris, the rooted Indian craftsmanship sprinkled with carefree joys of love and life. This collection is for the young at heart, bold in mind and for the ones who know how to live life carefree!”
Speaking on the occasion HE. Alexander Ziegler, Ambassador of France said,“I’m thrilled to host a soirée to celebrate Befikre in the presence of talented stars, Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor, and congratulate them warmly for their performance. Befikre makes the most of the stunning locales offered by France, highlighting why, year after year, it’s the world’s top tourist destination as well as a favourite for romantic holidays and film shoots. I’m delighted that Befikre was shot almost entirely in France and availed of the French Film Commission’s excellent incentives. I wish to extend invitation to Indian film makers to come and shoot their films in France.”
The Ivory Kiss is the brand’s interpretation of the great Parisian legacy. It essays the richness of Parisian architecture, heritage, art and culture. Diva'ni has harnessed its creative flair and outdone itself by recreating the flavour of a region through these ensembles. Amalgamating subtle summer colors with regal silhouettes along with fine craftsmanship, this collection aims to take you through a carefree glam journey of dressing. Through this showing, Diva’ni also forays into bespoke men’s wear and unveils Diva’ni Man. This exquisitely designed line will aim at catering to the fashion needs of the Indian metropolitan man.
With the spring summer couture launch, Diva’ni aims at taking the audiences through a never before destination wedding ensemble trail. The silhouettes range from short dresses to drape sarees to gowns to contemporary bridal lehengas. Intricate handwork using zardozi and aari, along with usage of elements like metal blades, mother of pearls, kundan, sequin, elaborates the grandeur of Parisian architecture and heritage at its best. Carefully embroidered floral appliqué, rather the signature DIVA’NI Vintage Rose lends that perfect zing to the collection.
The show also becomes unique with Diva’ni’s partnership with Adidas Original to give the look a perfect finish from head to toe. Aiming to showcase a carefree comfortable bride, the models will be spotted walking the ramp in exclusively designed Stan smiths sneakers embellished to give it a touch of glam !
Partnered by Pullman Aerocity, Accor, Atout France and Air France, the soirée was an ode to the film and the French art de vivre that permeates it.
DIVA’NI was first introduced in the year 2013 by Yash Raj Films, Indian cinema’s biggest name and KBSH Private Limited, one of the largest & independent heritage fashion houses based out of New Delhi.
