THE CIRCUS:

Funky. Groovy. Eclectic. Vicious. Happy. Mellow.Furious. Quirky. Angsty. Bouncy. Think of a musical recipe which has a healthy dollop of all these ingredients and you’re thinking The Circus. A band that believes in ferocity of intent and perfection of execution, and an absolutely take-no-prisoners attitude when it comes to their original music. The eldritch, beaming wails of Abhishek Bhatia guitar attack of Arsh Sharma, the ridiculously funk-tastic bass work of Abhinav Chaudhary and the tireless groove machine of Anshul Lall put together create some of the most refreshing and original music to emerge out of the Indian subcontinent in years. Live, they are the essence of what rock and roll is all about, and bring the fun and decadence that has all but died out in a scene where bands sound increasingly manufactured in an attempt to be appreciated. The Circus are none of that. This is no-frills rock and into their existence. With a debut full-length album scheduled for imminent release, the band is set to go places. You would be wise to show up at the next gig.

The Circus were one of the most anticipated bands in Channel [V] Launchpad™ 2009, and although they surprisingly didn’t take home top honors, there was no doubt in the minds of everyone present that they were witnessing a massive rock and roll revolution in the form of this ferocious young quartet.

Gravy Train:
Gravy Train is a rock n roll, blues, alternative band. Four friends with varied interests get together to make good music and voila, you've got Gravy Train! Band members include Tanya Nambiar as the vocalist, Karan Malhotra as the lead guitarist, Akshay Johar as the bassist and Bhairav Gupta as the drummer

Barefaced Liar:
About a year old now,The Incredible MindFunk is a Delhi/Gurgaon based project . Though new to the circuit, the idea had been floating around for a while with Siddhant, Amar and Malik jamming occasionally. And just like any clichéd story, they wanted to take it a step further, thus bringing on Amira to complete the lineup.

Barefaced Liar is an amalgamation of the talents of Akshay Chowdhry (vocals, guitar), Sumant Balakrishnan (vocals, guitar), Akshay Johar (bass) and Suyash Gabriel (drums).

With a friendship tracing back to high school, Akshay and Sumant embarked on their musical journey over a decade ago. Their passion for singing, song writing and the guitar manifested itself in the creation of Barefaced Liar – a band through which they express their penchant for blues, classic rock and heavy metal sounds. After finding the perfect balance in sound since the arrival of Suyash Gabriel and Akshay Johar, the bands remains one of the most reputed acts to hit the stage.

Today, BFL is recognized as one of the most popular bands in New Delhi; known for their versatility and originality.

Having played live on the Indian music circuit since 2008, they are known for their explosive live shows and infectious enthusiasm on stage. Winners the Ibibo Rising Rock stars national contest in 2009 resulted in funding for their self-titled debut album and an India-wide launch tour. Their songs Glow and Mirage were semi-finalists at the UK Songwriters Contest for 2009 and 2010.

In 2011, BFL was one of the top 8 bands chosen countrywide by Talenthouse India for the MTV show “Pole Position” – a competition to open for Metallica in India. Most recently, their newest single, Toe the Line, has been topping music charts across the country.

Citing artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Stevie Ray Vaughan as the source of their musical inspiration, BFL’s sound can be described as a blend of Indian indie- rock, blues and heavy metal. Their signature sound consists of pop-driven vocal harmonies that blend seamlessly with their blues-rooted guitar style.

Having played in all the major metros, at popular venues and festivals, the band looks forward to breaking out onto the international music stage.

1. Vocals - Amira Gill - Blessed with a voice awesome enough to end dictatorships in the Middle East, a fully functional body clock AND a bedtime to go with it.

She’s the one reason the band seems sane enough to be allowed in public.

Effortlessly dumbfounding you with soaring melodies and conjuring up vocal lines that REFUSE to get out of your head.

2.Guitars – Siddhant Agarwal – Every band has ‘That One Jackass’, socially inept, scares the parents away, dreams of robbing KFC with Chewbacca (you know the type). Though he seems to fit in(somehow), producing some truly mind warping Progressive and Psychedelic sounds, add a cubic buttload of Funk , throw in a pinch of shred and you have a guy twisted enough to establish his dominion over a ballpool full of somalian midgets.

3. Bass - Amar Pandey – Our very own Clark Kent on happy juice (yes his smile is infectious),’Dr P’ and his pearly white mistress always seem to have that perfect solution, constantly bombarding the jam room with his illegally cool and groovy bass lines mixed in with a solid sense of melody, making him cool enough to chill with YOUR alcoholic dad.

4. Drums -Karan Malik - He’s probably the only drummer cool enough to go and lecture the entire band on EQ , fix it and then point and laugh . Blessed with a mouth that puts pirates to shame, he is infamous for his rock steady grooves, blistering metal chops and for being as loud as a roomful of rednecks on moonshine.
