Rocking Since 1993.. and after several line up changes, we musicians have never surrendered to the hardest times and the saddest moments. The final result is a revelation of sorts, an entity that is indestructible, invincible, irreversible , insatiable, inimitable, and having the sound of thunder and the daze of metal. Hundred Octane is a band that draws on purpLe, floyd, cornell, maiden, pearl jam, manowar, hetfield...and yet remains uniquely spectacular.

The rare quality of superb music writing stacked with matchin' lyrics & above all, fashioned with tht deep thought provoking voice is what we are all about. MUSIC in MADNESS and MELODY in MAYHEM is wat we believe in.

Since our explosion on the scene in the early nineties Hundred Octane have been hailed as one of the Delhi's greatest live acts of all time with their fiery brand of music, spectacle and live performance all of which has excited their fans for over two decades. It has been so, all these years, it probably will be so awhile. Small wonder then, if you see the same old faces. It only keeps getting rockier and rolliest. Especially the one's that are dished out with that screeching violin. Or one's that begin with about thirty fiery balls of fire, not in one bang, but a million colors ... so to say :)

INCLINATIONS & INFLUENCES

No, it's not just about ourselves. Nowhere close to it. In fact, we made New Delhi's first-ever concert for AIDS AWARENESS. Getting the message, quite literally, on to the streets, bang into the heart of the University campus (pun, again, intended). But that was back in 1992. We still feel strongly about certain issues, a whole lot of those, and we let them know. If they're willing to go out and listen to music that makes sense, why not make sense that makes some sense to them then.

It's a big bad word, this. It takes away a few good souls every now and then. (Of course HE needs to keep the scene going up there, fair enough !) But, it isn't that way for us. Rock and roll keeps us alive. Like Pink Floyd have, Zeppelin of course, or even Purple, Skynyrd, Hendrix, Allman Brothers, and Doors, sixty million others that would need as many pages of this damnable keying in. What matters, is, that they had their men, and women, preferring the scene above, but their songs are as good as right now. So be it. Rock on...

Inclinations of the lot point to a blues and rock and roll influence, with a generous helping of the Indian character. The language used in their songs is Rock and Roll and the message, human, already heard all around and in and over India. Around a thousand concerts, of approximately a hundred and twenty-six minutes each(..on average) = an audience of hundreds of thousands.. (Not counting the stoned or the sleeping). And that's just the live playing. And just so we bloody well prove it while we're at it.
