Chef Raman Kohli:
“Food is not only a necessity, it’s an enjoyment,” says Raman Kohli, Founder and Director Food Production at THE BASIL KITCHEN. A master of Modern European cuisine, specific to taste, mix and match new ingredients — “to play with your food” — as he creates his signature dishes.

Raman’s culinary journey led him to learn his craft at Australia’s finest hotels from Perth to Melbourne to Canberra. His passion for the culinary arts inspires his promotion of regional cuisine and a healthy environment.

Raman has extraordinary sleight-of-hand that becomes the “SHOW” as meals are prepared live for his guests. “Customers equal friends. We can talk and have fun while I’m working.”

Deepti Jakhar Abraham.
A self taught baker. A former lawyer and risk management consultant, Deepti is now a full time baker. She calls her venture The Little Yellow Box after a box of wedding sweets she spotted at a friend’s home many years ago, which to her still epitomizes treats and optimism. Being married to an army officer, Deepti has lived in small towns like Kargil, Wellington and Devlali, which didn’t have many dessert options, another driving force behind her quest to hone her baking skills.

Idea behind starting The Little Yellow Box, according to her is: "Good old world charm of the way I used to have the cake growing up. So I keep the guilt and preservatives away, and even the heavy icing. Baked in small batches to ensure the best texture. Keep it simple. Big on taste. Less on drama."

Her philosophy:
to bring a bit of celebration into any ordinary day by a freshly baked cake or a cookie, straight from the oven.
