Geliophobocs Entertainment and Cafe Ludus presents The East India Comedy Show - News Special with the best of Indian Stand Up Comedians - Sahil Shah, Azeem Banatwalla and Sapan Verma.

News Special as the name seems to suggest is a news-based stand-up comedy show, where 3 comedians address current affairs in their own unique inimitable styles. News topics will range from politics to sports, international to entertainment news. The show will also include segments like a ‘news debate’ where two comedians go head to head & try to outdo each other (pretty reminiscent of the primetime news shows) and a ‘panel discussion’, the topic of which will be based on the suggestion from audience members with jokes being made on the spot.

With the ever-changing news, the show will also adapt to keep up with it, thus bringing a “new news show” every show.

The Comics:

Azeem Banatwalla:
Taller than both Princes William and Harry put together Azeem Banatwalla is an engineer-turned-writer-turned-comedian. Having written for publications encompassing travel, humour, lifestyle, sport and technology, he is a proverbial jack of all trades, and master of puns. Azeem has done shows in cities across India. When he’s not sending Facebook messages to himself from fake accounts, Azeem is busy doing scores of shows at pubs, college festivals, corporate events and even a bachelorette party. He charges extra to jump out of a cake.

Sapan Verma:
Sapan was Lady Mountbatten’s personal favorite ever since he introduced her to Nehru. Since then, he watches movies, plays video games and sleeps all day under the guise of a freelance humor writer. He has written generation-ruining shows for Channel V, NDTV Good Times, UTV Bindass, Colors, Star Plus and several lesser channels he’s too ashamed to name. As one of the founding members of East India Comedy, he has toured across all major cities in India, performing at several auditoriums, pubs, college festivals as well as corporate shows, with styles ranging from regular standup to improv comedy to sketches & gags. While most comics rehearse before their show, he spends that time setting his hair.

Sahil Shah:
The official incharge of polishing the crown jewels, Count Sahil is a muscular, tall and incredibly handsome comedian, in his dreams. He is known for his unstoppable puns and mental taxation. His off-center one liners have taken his comedy across the country, with shows in over 6 cities. Apart from cracking jokes, he time travels as well as professionally saves lives. He’s considered one of India’s most promising young comedians… Honestly…God Promise
