Let’s not forget to pay tribute to twenty years of KARGIL

Select CITYWALK launches a donation drive towards the welfare of Kargil Martyr families

New Delhi, 10^th July 2019 – This month, let’s not forget our soldiers who went beyond their call of duty and made the supreme sacrifice. It is now time for us to do our bit. Select CITYWALK on its seventh year of commemorating Kargil Diwas, pays homage to our martyr soldiers from the Kargil war by facilitating an online donation drive.

Select CITYWALK salutes the soldiers of yesterday, today & tomorrow and remembers Kargil through the last twenty years.  A special microsite has been created www.letsnotforget.in where you can pay your tribute and also relive the martyrs sacrifice by reading their last letters. The entire funds collected will go towards the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), for the welfare of those who were left behind- their brave families.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yogeshwar Sharma, Executive Director & CEO, Select CITYWALK said, “Kargil Diwas reminds us of our glorious win in 1999, a war fought with great courage in the most unforgiving conditions.  This year we celebrate 20 years of that remarkable victory. The supreme sacrifices of our soldiers can never be repaid, but let’s do our bit by donating to those they left behind-their brave families.”

Further adding support to this initiative, Mr. Kapil Dev said, “The cause of the soldiers is very dear to my heart. I urge the countrymen to come forward and donate for this noble initiative. Let’s not forget the supreme sacrifices of the real heroes.”

Major General Dhruv C Katoch, SM VSM (Retd) Director India Foundation, also added, “The real heroes of the war were the officers and men who showed exemplary grit and courage in retaking the peaks. They looked death in the face, yet soldiered on, many never to return home again. To all who fought this bitter war and brought success to the nation, this country owes a huge debt of gratitude.”
