Designs galore at DLF Promenade
The Arty Design Festival saw Art, Culture, Craft, Exclusive Designers and Fashion
Delhi, April 28th, 2015: DLF Promenade hosted the Travelista’s Arty Design Festival last weekend on 25th and 26th April, 2015 at the mall. The patrons got to see a carefully curated collection of exquisite art, craft, paintings, hand crafted accessories, Vintage décor, jewellery, hand painted footwear, designer wear and more from around 30 different designers from India and abroad. The entry free event gave an opportunity for the visitors to interact with the craftsmen, engage in fashion & styling sessions, makeover sessions and more.
The second edition of Travlista’s Arty Design Festival was even better, bigger and engaging than its first edition. DLF Promenade’s HUB was transformed into a shopaholic’s delight with a sumptuous shopping spread. The patrons got to see exciting designer products, apparels, accessories, décor, kitsch, vintage designed by talented designers and entrepreneurs of India. Intricately designed Indo-western couture by designer Deveesha Batra, stunning statement jewellery by Eristona, hand painted ballerinas by Zubiya, sassy statement jewellery by Pataaka, chic sunglasses and more won the heart of the visitors. Further, amazing bridal and trousseau options for the weddings and party wear by Karuya, Ruchika and Garima and O Mann were a delight for the shoppers last weekend at DLF Promenade. The festival also saw handmade hair accessories, ear-rings, bangles, post cards from various designers put together.
Furthermore, the two day long festival showcased exquisite collection of art, craft & paintings showcasing the rich heritage of the country. Handmade designer shoes, paintings inspired by Mother Nature on peacocks, birds and more took special attention among the visitors. Aiyanya which has a store at Hauz Khas Village, while also selling online, were exhibiting many of their handmade phulkari and crochet works (on dupattas, kurtis and handbags). The Powder Room at one end of the weekend makeshift market also happily caught the on looker’s attention, largely accredited to their candy pink store colours. The Powder Room offered make-up service (mostly home service, although it does have a shop in Lodhi Colony) and packages like the ‘Powder Room Airbrush Makeover’ and ‘A Family and Friends Package’ were the attention grabbers.
The Arty Festival was an eye-opener for the regular shopper in the mall, reminding one of how much raw talent still lies hidden and DLF Promenade has taken a step to give an opportunity for these designers a platform to showcase their work. There are Indian designers of every kind as we discovered at the festival, each of whom deserves accolades for having had the gumption to step out of the ordinary and create something of their own.
