New Delhi:A great restaurant promises to offer something that is not available elsewhere. Being different is a good thing and it is a quality to look out for when choosing a restaurant. So here is something absolutely different absolutely new.  

Launched in September, 2019 Teen Pateela, a Delhi based food outlet, part of the Café Turtle group offers that something different.  Just 3 dishes cooked to perfection.  Bursting with flavours. It is located at Meharchand Market, Lodhi Road. Going by its name, Teen Pateelaprovides simple and traditional Punjabi fare – only 3 dishes, ‘Dal Ferozepuri, Punjabi Aloo, and Tomato Paneer’. In a short span, the restaurant has gained popularity due to the exquisite taste of its food and flavours.

Each dish has distinct character and aroma attached to it. ‘Dal Ferozepuri’, the classic dal made in the traditional and true Firozepuri style, cooked overnight on a slow fire. ‘Paneer of the day’, softest cottage cheese made in different styles and ‘Punjabi Aloo’ made with farm fresh potatoes, tomatoes and onions. The food is cooked using just four hand pounded spices including jeera, haldi, dhania and mirch. Teen Pateela is vegetarian delight as the food is cooked without garlic, infact a must try for all foodie.

Talking about the restaurant 64-year-old, Publisher and foodie Shekhar Malhotra, owner of Teen Pateela said, “I always wanted to open a restaurant which is simple and also showcases our family’s food preferences. All the three recipes are handed down by my naani (grandmother) from Ferozepur. Our endeavor is to serve tasteful food and engage with a new generation of food lovers”.

Simple and delicious food is cooked using farm-fresh vegetables, pure spices and healthy recipes that have been passed down the generations which are the key to its inception. Great care has been taken in sourcing the raw materials.  The farm fresh and natural potatoes are handpicked from Aligarh.  The Succulent and juicy tomatoes, and hill side onions are from PauriGarwal.

Teen Pateela also offers a range of homemade natural achaars (Pickles) that takes the savory experience to the next level. Try out the lemon, carrot, ginger, haldi and green chilliespickles.

The coup de grace is the Desi Salsa – appropriately called Balle’ Balle’ SALSA made from the same succulent ingredients and cooked with the same care and love.  Salsa with a Desi twist.
